A team of inventors from El Paso, Texas took First Place at the Yankee Tradeshow Expo, in Waterbury, Connecticut for their StayDry Faceshield. Their invention was awarded the Best Health / Medical/ Exercise / Safety Invention for 2008.
The Staydry Faceshield was also featured on “Pitch to America” on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno (November 14, 2008).
Post operative eye, nose and facial patients can now shower without having to worry about getting water in their wound.
The StayDry Faceshield allows patients who have undergone Lasik, eye, nose, or any type of facial surgery to bathe or shower without having to worry about water in their sutures. Most Lasik patients can return to work the day after their surgery. However, they are instructed to shower in a manner without getting water in their eyes for a period of at least five days.
The StayDry Faceshield is a disposible, adjustable product made of anti-fog and all hypoallergenic medically approved materials.
Since 1999, 12,000,000 Lasik eye surgeries have been performed in the United States. There are still an estimated 60,000,000 Americans in need of corrective surgery in the United States.
11,700,000 cosmetic surgeries, including cheek implants, chin & lip augmentation, Botox injections, and eyelid surgeries were performed in the United States in 2007. The Staydry Faceshield allows the patient to return to a more normal daily life, like taking a shower, sooner. Thus, reducing the recovery time.
